Standard float glass (normal glas)
Standard float glass is the most commonly used glazing option for picture framing. It offers excellent clarity and a smooth, polished surface, making it an ideal choice for framing posters, art prints, photographs, certificates, and other artwork intended for indoor display.
With a thickness of 2 mm, float glass features a reflective surface and provides reliable protection against dust, dirt, and everyday handling. As it has no special coatings, it is a versatile and cost-effective glazing solution suitable for a wide range of framing applications.
ADVANTAGES
» Excellent optical clarity
» Value for money
» Protects against dust and dirt
» Optional size
» Suitable for a wide variety of framing projects
» An economical choice for everyday picture framing
» Always in stock, always available for immediate service
DISADVANTAGES
» Reflection
» Moderate loss of colors and shades
Nonreflective Glas
Anti-reflective matte glass significantly reduces unwanted reflections, making your artwork easier to view even in bright environments or under challenging lighting conditions. It is an excellent choice for living spaces, offices, galleries, and exhibition areas where glare can interfere with the viewing experience.
The glass features a finely etched matte surface that diffuses incoming light, resulting in a substantial reduction of reflections while still providing effective protection for your artwork. Although the matte finish may slightly soften the sharpness of the image compared to clear glass, it offers excellent visibility and a comfortable viewing experience from a wide range of angles.
ADVANTAGES
» Strong reduction of glare and reflections
» Finely etched matte surface
» Ideal for bright rooms, offices, and exhibition spaces
» Optional size
» Protect against the dust and dirt
» Diffuses incoming light for improved visibility
» Always in stock, always available for immediate service
» Cost-effective anti-glare glazing solution
DISADVANTAGES
» Reduced color intensity
» Limited use (e.g. not suitable for pictures with a spacer strip, or for frame boxes)

Acrylic Glazing (Plexiglass)
Acrylic glazing (PMMA) is one of the most popular alternatives to traditional picture framing glass, offering outstanding optical clarity, excellent durability, and exceptional value. Its crystal-clear, colour-neutral appearance ensures accurate colour reproduction, allowing artwork, photographs, and prints to be displayed at their very best.
Unlike conventional glass, acrylic is significantly lighter in weight and highly impact-resistant. Rather than shattering into sharp fragments, it is far less likely to break, making it a safer choice for many framing applications.
Thanks to its combination of strength and low weight, acrylic glazing is particularly well suited for large-format artwork, children's rooms, public buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and any environment where safety and ease of handling are important.
ADVANTAGES
» Clarity
» Particularly light weight
» Breakproof, easy to handle and ideal for large frames
» Price-performance-ratio
» UV protection: UV2
» Always in stock, always available for immediate service
» Optional size

» Excellent performance at an attractive price
DISADVANTAGES
» Reflection
» Moderate color loss
» Due to the possible electrostatic charge, it is not suitable for artworks with loose pigments - for example pastels, charcoal, sanguine or pencil. Because their small particles would be possible visible and bonded on the surface due to the electrostatic characteristics.
» more sensitive to scratches
