M. Kiss Márta (1988) is a Hungarian-Slovak painter and educator from the Csallóköz region of southern Slovakia. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in the landscape, nature, community and cultural memory of her native region. Her energetic, expressive paintings bring together landscape, people, animals, vegetation and elements of everyday rural life. A realistic observation of the world meets vigorous gestural painting and an experimental approach to materials. The soil of Csallóköz is not merely a subject in her work but also becomes an artistic medium: specially prepared local mud and natural pigments are incorporated into her paintings. Her works are both deeply personal and community-oriented, exploring identity, belonging and the relationship between people and their environment. As an educator, she also sees art as a means of dialogue, participation and community building. Nature is never simply a backdrop in her paintings; it becomes an active, living presence. Her large-scale canvases combine intense colour, dynamic brushwork and a strong sense of materiality. Rooted in a specific landscape and cultural context, her work addresses universal questions of home, identity and our responsibility towards the places we inhabit. At the heart of her practice are place, identity, nature and human connection.

We warmly welcome you to join us for the opening!
